Laure is not a fictional character but a virtual identity which really had replaced me in my job search during several months: Laure responded job vacancies, followed the advice of Job Centre, was interviewed, was turn down many times…. at the risk of rebelling against her condition.
Camouflage self-portrait redraws a performative I led during almost 6 months like a role-playing to question the status of the virtual identities and standards which build the relation between personal and professional identity.
Camouflage self-portrait is composed of a video and mails that testify of the “assault course” of an unemployed person and of accessories used for the performance.
The installation proposes an interaction with the public invited, with a tablet connecting to Internet, to immerse itself into this job-hunting on a professional social network and Laure’s email box.
